Job summary

Neogen Corporation is seeking a distribution center specialist for the 2nd shift (2PM-10:30PM) to handle inbound and outbound functions, process orders, and manage shipping activities in our Kentucky facility.

The role requires basic forklift or RF scanner familiarity, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various shipping carriers. Prior warehouse experience is preferred and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RF scanner experience encouraged.
• Ability to interface with management regarding duties and future development of department.
• Minimum six months documented distribution/ warehouse experience in an inbound or outbound function.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all necessary distribution equipment.
• Understand bar code scanning to pick orders, look up inventory, and transfers.
• Pack, label and ship orders, including international shipments and freight quotes.
• Complete paperwork properly and ensure order accuracy.
• Print and attach labels for multiple pallet shipments and maintain proper packaging standards.
• Maintain professionalism to promote a positive work environment.
• Work overtime as assigned by management.

Uses computerized systems to monitor stock levels, fulfills customer orders, ships and delivers merchandise to customer warehouse, wholesale or retail outlets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate all necessary distribution equipment
• Understanding of bar code scanner to include:
• Picking orders
• Inventory look up
• Inventory transfers
• How to keep, save, and load an order
• Small Parcel: UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL shipments
• Check order for accuracy
• Complete paperwork properly
• Properly pack basic packages per work instructions
• Trained and can perform special product packaging requirements
• Run packages through shipping station
• Perform international and domestic shipments via small parcel carrier
• Perform international and domestic freight quotes
• Trained on how to pull, box, and ship all temperature controlled items
• Trained on how to handle all Hazmat shipments
• Complete AES/ITN number for UPS shipments
• Pallet orders: LTL
• Understanding of picking a pallet order to check
• Pick accurately
• Proper product layering

Language Skills

Must have a valid driver’s license.
