Job summary

Bodycote plc in Andover, MA is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Hybrid associate to support heat-treatment operations under the Production Control Manager and meet customer specifications.

This safety-sensitive role requires forklift certification, ability to lift 50 lbs, ITAR compliance (US citizens or permanent residents), and a high school diploma with basic computer skills. The shift is 2nd shift, 12P-8P, Mon-Fri, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office.
• Some shipping experience desired.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card for ITAR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
• Loads and unloads trucks; schedules shipments with UPS and FedEx.
• Interacts with customers to clarify discrepancies and schedules.
• Inspects incoming/outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
• Reports irregularities to supervisor and promotes safety and housekeeping.

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are 2nd shift, 12P-8P, M-F.

Position Summary:

Based in Andover, MA the Shipping/Receiving Hybrid role will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Control Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Responsible for essential job functions related to shipping/receiving with limited supervision.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
• Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
• Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
• Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
• Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
• Will assist operations team with Load Make up or related tasks as assigned. (Shipping/Receiving will be first priority)

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
• Some shipping experience desired.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
