Job summary

GA Telesis is expanding its Composite Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul operations at the Ft. Lauderdale facility and seeks an experienced 2nd Shift Sheet Metal Technician to repair and overhaul aircraft components to FAA standards.

The role reports to the Production Director and requires knowledge of heat control, metal fabrication, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds; proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years aviation component repair experience.
• High school diploma required; technical or trade school certifications preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disassembly, and repair of flight controls, structures, stabilizers, nacelles, exhaust, and other aircraft parts.
• Repair, modify, replace, or overhaul aircraft parts to ensure airworthiness.
• Perform work within estimated or budgeted hours.
• Know the proper use of heat control units.
• Know various types of aircraft sealant and appropriate method application for sealant, as well as aircraft fasteners and basic methods of installation and suitable substitutions.
• Fabricate parts as required and have knowledge of metal and alloys and where substitutes may be used.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Within the Composite Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul unit at GA Telesis, we are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Sheet Metal Technician to join our team at our MRO Composite facility in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This is a full-time position that will focus on aircraft composite repairs. Reporting to the Director of Production, the ideal candidate will use their full knowledge and experience to complete all tasks in quality standards of the Company, FAA, and our customers' approved maintenance manual.
