Job summary

Jack Link's Protein Snacks is seeking a Shag Truck Driver for our Underwood, IA distribution center. The role focuses on moving semi-trailers using a shag truck, backing into docks, and supporting loading/unloading as needed.

Starting pay ranges from $18.60 to $22.50 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, plus PTO and holidays. The position requires safety awareness, valid driver's license, and 3+ years of DC experience with shag truck.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of distribution center experience with shag truck operation.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow instructions, and perform basic math.
• Above-average communication skills, typically via radio.
• Experience with yard switching and tractor-trailer operations.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and tool usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and ergonomic processes to ensure a safe workplace.
• Adhere to GMPs, sanitary conditions, and food safety standards.
• Perform daily shag truck inspections and USDOT-compliant checks.
• Conduct daily yard checks for loaded and empty trailers.
• Ensure correct temperature storage per guidelines and spot trailers at docks.
• Keep equipment clean and organized; assist on the dock as needed.
• Support efficient distribution center flow and operate with limited supervision.
