Job summary

Q Products and Services, part of the Lanco Group of Companies, is expanding and adding a 2nd Shift Sewer to support sewing operations for the Q-sales product line.

You will prepare machines, sew materials, inspect quality, and assist with basic maintenance while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. The role emphasizes precision, attention to detail, and teamwork in a production environment located in Hazel Crest, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of sewing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Effective communication skills, including written and verbal.
• Basic math knowledge (fractions).
• Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrum.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sewing machines by changing needles and thread, securing attachments, and placing spools, cords, or other materials on spindles.
• Sew materials together by guiding fabric or other materials under the machine needle according to instructions, patterns, or specifications.
• Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed to maintain machine performance and product quality.
• Inspect materials for flaws before sewing.
• Check finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and required specifications.
• Complete preventative maintenance requirements, follow manufacturer instructions, troubleshoot equipment issues, and request repairs when needed.
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures to help maintain a safe workplace and achieve a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
