Job summary

DeKalb County Central United School District seeks a long-term substitute 2nd shift custodian at Waterloo Elementary School in Waterloo, IN. The position runs Monday through Friday, 4–6 hours per day, with an estimated end around December 15, 2026.

You will maintain facilities, clean floors, restrooms, windows, and classrooms, and support events by moving furniture and reporting issues to administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to perform moderately to heavy manual activities.
• Willingness to work with hazardous chemicals and follow MSDS guidelines.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets; dust and wash furniture and woodwork.
• Clean restrooms, locker rooms and showers.
• Move and arrange furniture for events; replace bulbs and lighting tubes.
• Clean windows, walls, and window coverings; maintain clean grounds.
• Assist in receiving and distributing supplies; report vandalism.
