Job summary

Waterloo Community School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian in Waterloo, Iowa. The role supports maintaining a clean, safe learning environment when regular staff are unavailable. The starting date is immediate and the position is paid hourly.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas; trash removal; light maintenance; and assisting with event setups as needed. A background check and physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Successful background check required.
• Complete physical, TB and drug screen.
• Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and respectfully with staff and students regardless of background.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to ensure a safe, clean learning and working environment in the absence of a regular employee.
• Thoroughly clean all traffic areas daily in assigned rooms/offices.
• Wet clean hard surface floors and remove spots on surfaces as needed.
• Clean interior glass doors/partitions and sanitize restrooms daily.
