Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Quality Technician to perform initial validation of complaints, analysis, and containment activities for customer and internal issues on-site in Columbia, SC. You will support New Model Introduction with measurements, carry out First Article Inspections, and participate in gauge R&R and MSA studies.

The role emphasizes data-driven quality and ongoing process improvement. On-site position with a base hourly rate and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Initial validation of complaints and traceability, containment and problem-solving for customer and internal issues.
  • Support measurement analyses and part measurements for New Model Introduction teams.
  • Perform First Article Inspections and Design Capability Studies as required.
  • Carry out gauge R&R studies and measurement system analysis.
  • Collect and analyze data; generate Pareto and SPC reports; support quality metrics.

Where Is The Work

On-Site (5 days)

What You Will Do
  • Perform tasks such as initial validation of complaint, traceability, interim action/containment, failure analysis, disposition, and support problem-solving activities for both customer complaints and internal manufacturing issues;
  • Complete quality requests to support the New Model Introduction teams with part measurements and analysis;
  • Perform First Article Inspections and Design Capability Studies as required;
  • Complete measurement equipment verifications, as required;
  • Participate in gauge R&R studies for measurement system analysis;
  • Collect and analyze data, and generate reports (Pareto, Statistical Process Control, and Process Capability Studies);
  • Support the Value Stream and Quality Manager with Key Process Quality measures on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;
  • Support the Value Stream and Quality Engineers with the development, implementation, training, and use of Statistical Process Control;
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of the business and drive sustainable cost savings
  • Demonstrate advanced measurement and inspection skills, including programming, troubleshooting, and application of assembly fixtures and measurement equipment;
  • Develop advanced inspection methods;
  • Assist with the development of inspection procedures and control plans;
  • Participate in audit functions (product, process, and operating system), ensuring quality systems and products are consistent with internal documentation, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Complete all other assignments as assigned
  • Identify and document any problems relating to safety, product, process, and quality systems.
