Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer on-site to administer the Quality Management System and focus on APQP-driven process quality. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, NPD, and Supply Chain to plan, execute, and deliver our promise to meet and exceed customer expectations.

The role is on-site (5 days) in Pueblo, CO, with a compensation range of $75,700.00–$135,834.99 and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or similar.
• 2–5 years of quality-related experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Certified APQP Specialist or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
• Experience using problem-solving tools (8D, 9-step, A3) for root cause analysis.
• Ability to organize tasks and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Own process quality, improvements, and control for the responsible area.
• Ensure quality at the source with appropriate controls and measurements.
• Drive continuous improvement actions to prevent defects and escapes.
• Perform internal product and process audits.
• Create and maintain Control Plans and PFMEAs updates.
• Support manufacturing engineering in PFMEA updates.
• Reduce customer complaints and warranty costs.
• Develop and monitor quality documentation and records.

Trane Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer: This role will effectively administer the Quality Management System and focus on Execution of Process Quality as per Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements in accordance with current procedures and work instructions, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, NPD, and Supply Chain to plan, execute, and deliver our promise to meet and consistently exceed customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Owner for the process quality, improvement and control for responsible area.
• Owner for ensuring quality at the source for responsible area by utilizing sufficient controls through measurements and other detection methods.
• Owner for creating and driving the implementation of continuous improvement actions to prevent process defects and/or escapes on a recurring basis.
• Perform internal product & process audits.
• Create, maintain, and update Control Plans as well as audit to identify improvements.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the updating of PFMEAs for product or process changes.
• Champion the reduction of customer complaints; reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs.
• Evaluate Drawings and Engineering standards including critical dimensions.
• Perform data analysis: non-conforming material, Warranty, Escapes, and others.
• Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
• Support lean initiatives and Problem Solving (5s, RIE’s, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures as per BOS and engineering standards.
• Support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.
• Support the launch of new products through Early Launch Containment planning and support.
• Support Quality System to make sure all deliverables are met for customer and regulatory body compliance.
• Serves as internal ISO 9001 auditor.
• Responsible for keeping updated Method Sheets, visual aids, formats and quality records according to Trane QMS.
• Ensure the compliance of documentation and improvement following the quality standards, FPY, COPQ, DPPM, Calibration and development of corrective actions with the use of 6-sigma, SPC, strategic A3 and 9-Steps.
• Support and monitoring of SQDIP / MDI boards.
• Analysis and monitoring complaints and CARs and SCARs as necessary.
• May supervise hourly team members in inspection, gauging, metrology, college co-operative students, interns.
• Manage pressure vessel code compliance programs related to ASME/ PED/ TSSA etc.
• Drive process continuous improvement projects in line with value stream mapping

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or similar
• Minimum 2-5 years of Quality related experience within Industrial Manufacturing environment
• Experience with Process Flow Chart, PFMEA, and Control Plan required
• Certified APQP Specialist, or Certified Quality Engineer preferred
• Experience using common problem-solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3 SPS for determination of root cause to drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously
• Experience Leading Teams and managing people
