Job summary

Surge Staffing in Toledo, OH seeks an experienced Supervisor / Team Lead on 2nd shift to oversee sorting, inspection, and rework in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will lead floor teams, drive quality, maintain safety, and coordinate shift operations.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clear work instructions. Overtime and 10-12 hour shifts are possible; wage is up to $24/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Forklift certified or forklift operating experience.
• Able to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends and Sundays.
• Must read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee containment operations, including labor management and inspection at assigned workstations.
• Lead teams by example while maintaining organization and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure all employees work safely and comply with health and safety policies.
• Report accidents or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Coordinate pre-shift setup, materials and paperwork.
• Audit end-of-shift paperwork, time sheets, and communicate with incoming Team Lead.
• Ensure necessary tools, materials, and resources are available to complete jobs.
• Provide on-the-job training and communicate new work instructions as needed.
• Maintain accountability for personnel assigned to jobs and provide performance feedback.
• Support adherence to health, safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
