Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. in Cocoa, Florida is seeking an experienced QC Inspector to support our structural steel fabrication team on the 2nd shift.

This role conducts in-process and final inspections to ensure fabricated structural steel meets quality standards, approved shop drawings, and project specifications in an AISC-certified facility. Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in structural steel layout, fabrication, or quality inspection.
Ability to read fabrication/shop drawings and construction plans.
Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred.
Must be able to work 2nd shift in Cocoa, Florida.

Responsibilities

Perform and document daily inspections of fabricated structural steel in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D1.5 requirements.
Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated materials.
Verify dimensional layouts and part placement against shop drawings.
Ensure fabricated materials meet approved shop drawings and project specifications.
Identify, document, and assist with resolution of non-conforming work.
Work with production teams to address quality concerns and maintain production standards.
Participate in annual AISC quality control audits.
Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure thorough documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality and fabrication processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
