Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. seeks an experienced Fabrication Lead for 2nd shift onsite in Cocoa, Florida. This hands-on leadership role oversees fitters and welders, coordinating daily workflow to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work closely with Shop Foreman, QC, and other departments to ensure schedules are met and equipment operates reliably. The ideal candidate has 3+ years leading structural steel fabrication teams and a strong grasp of fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years leading a structural steel fabrication team.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel materials, welding, layout, fabrication, CNC equipment operation, and material handling.
• Working knowledge of safety, quality, and cost-control standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor fitters and welders to meet production goals.
• Enforce safety and quality policies across the team.
• Assign daily tasks and manage workflow to ensure on-time delivery.
• Assist with drawing interpretation, fabrication techniques, and safe work practices.
• Coordinate production schedules with Shop Foreman and other leads.
• Identify and report safety, quality, or process concerns.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to keep equipment operating.
