Job summary

Signum Displays in Solon, OH is hiring a Press Operator for the 2nd shift. You will cut vinyl siding, diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement corrections.

You will learn to set up stamping presses 20–40 ton, handle tooling safely, document production, and use calipers, gauges, and micrometers. This role requires basic math and English literacy, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; steady attendance is essential.

The Press Operator is responsible for cutting vinyl siding, diagnosis and troubleshoot malfunctions and recommend corrections.

Essential Functions

• Capable of learning how to setup up and operate stamping presses ranging from 20 to 40 ton
• Responsible for setting the tooling and operating the press safely
• Document the production
• Ability to use tools including, but not limited to, calipers, gauges and micrometers
• Mechanical aptitude
• Able to problem solve and employ troubleshooting efforts
• Maintain a clean, organized work area
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to varying temperatures. The environment is an active plant with continuous noises from equipment inside the plant.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching. The employee must be able to lift and or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
