Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Hawthorne is seeking a Build Supervisor (Starship) for the 2nd shift to guide a propulsion subassembly team in building out a new work center. You will manage technicians and welders, drive a production schedule, and ensure safety and quality on the shop floor.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in final assembly production with leadership experience, plus welding knowledge and strong collaboration with engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in final assembly production (aviation/aerospace)
• 2+ years of experience leading a team or project
• Experience in welding roles and production environments

Responsibilities

• Manage an hourly workforce of technicians and welders; deliver daily work assignments and provide feedback
• Create and maintain a tight production schedule with clear daily assignments
• Recruit and develop welders/technicians; provide technical mentorship
• Track shop floor metrics and partner with engineering to maximize delivery rate and yield
• Collaborate with management and engineering to streamline processes and resolve issues
• Lead by example and motivate the team to high safety, quality, and output levels
• Maintain 5S and a culture of continuous improvement
• Ensure safety through equipment checks, PPE, and engineering risk mitigations
