Job summary

Searchmasters Inc. in Bedford, OH is seeking a hands-on 2nd shift supervisor to lead a team of five direct reports, including a welder, a break press operator, and three assemblers. You will drive metrics in production, quality, and safety to maintain operational excellence.

You will oversee hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations for the shift, coach team members for high performance, streamline processes to reduce waste, uphold standards, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Hands-on sheet metal experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
• BS degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a 2nd shift team of 5 direct reports, including 1 welder, 1 break press operator, and 3 non-union assemblers.
• Drive KPIs across production, quality, and safety to ensure operational excellence.
• Oversee all hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions for the shift.
• Motivate and develop team members to foster a high-performance work environment.
• Streamline production line processes to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Uphold and enforce manufacturing standards across all shift operations.
• Champion CI initiatives to enhance overall operational performance.
