Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Production Supervisor in Lacon, IL to lead a small team of 3–6 operators and technicians. The role focuses on safety, quality, and hitting daily production targets in a plastics or similar manufacturing setting.

The position runs 3pm–1am on the 2nd shift, with a 7.5% shift differential and overtime eligibility. Training period includes adjustment, with emphasis on teamwork, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Background in plastics manufacturing or similar industries (e.g., metal, lumber, automotive, aerospace).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lead small teams.
• Clear verbal and written communication for cross-shift handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 3–6 shift employees.
• Oversee extrusion line setups, operations, and teardowns.
• Enforce OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Monitor product quality and scrap rates; adjust processes as needed.
• Assist technicians with mechanical and process issues on extrusion equipment.
• Maintain shift logs and production reports; track attendance.
• Implement lean manufacturing to improve workflow efficiency.
