Job summary

Rhodes Wolfe is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead afternoon operations in the wholesale building materials sector. You will supervise second shift manufacturing, direct production staff, and ensure safety, quality, productivity and efficiency goals are met.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing, strong welding and fabrication knowledge, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Basic math proficiency including fractions and geometry.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lb. and assist with team lifts up to 100 lb.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop second shift production employees while promoting a safety-first culture
• Carry out company quality policy with commitment to customers and continuous improvement
• Supervise daily operations of welding, fabrication, sawing, punching, blasting, powder coating
• Oversee robotic welding operations: setup, programming, troubleshooting, and quality control
• Schedule production activities and assign work to meet production goals and KPIs
• Monitor production, labor, and efficiency while identifying opportunities for improvement
• Train and mentor employees, manage performance, and approve timekeeping records
• Develop team with collective responsibility mindset, “can do” attitude, & clear communication
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with other supervisors and management
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and operational standards
• Communicate management decisions professionally and disagree in positive, constructive way
• Perform additional tasks as needed or required
• Be present on the shop floor 80% of the time
