Job summary

Aaalberts Surface Technologies in Canton, OH is seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor with strong heat treatment supervisory experience. You will lead a close-knit team from 3pm to 11pm, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and product quality while managing staffing and workflow.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in heat treatment supervisory roles.
• Extensive knowledge of metallurgical processing techniques.
• Ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of company policies, procedures and systems.
• Follow the production schedule created by the Production Manager.
• Ensure workplace safety at the start of the shift.
• Manage manpower planning for the assigned shift.
• Ensure customer products meet specifications and are processed properly.
• Test parts on time to ensure quality and reduce rejections.
• Provide necessary tools to direct reports for efficiency.
• Aim for KPIs in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects (cost reduction, productivity, ergonomics).
• Oversee shift responsibilities and staff management to ensure smooth production.

Aalberts Surface Technologies is seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Canton, OH.

If you have extensive knowledge of metallurgical processing techniques, organizational, leadership, communication, supervisory skills with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, and the ability to use a computer with Word, Excel, and Outlook, Aalberts wants to hear from you!

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Be aware of company policies, procedures and systems
• Follow the production schedule created by the Production Manager
• Ensure the workplace safety at the start of the shift
• Take care of manpower planning for the assigned shift
• Follow the company operating procedures to make sure customer products are processed properly and meet the specification
• Make sure to test the parts on time to ensure product quality and avoid large rejections
• Provide all the necessary tools to the direct reports for them to function efficiently
• Work towards achieving the targets for key performance indicators in areas like safety, quality, and productivity
• Participate in continuous improvement projects like cost reduction, productivity improvement, ergonomics etc. for the plant
• Will be a team member for solving problems
• Keep the plant floor well organized
• Administer disciplinary activities
• Work with Team Leader in employee evaluations
• Assume full responsibility of the shift, including management of staff, management of production and quality targets, and ensure smooth running of production processes
• Oversee responsibility of the quality of product processed within the shift in line with company's quality systems, processes, and procedures
• Monitor equipment and complete thorough walk-arounds per company standards
• Manage, develop, and motivate direct reports
• Ensure Health & Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during shift
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve possible problems
• Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective
• Ensure training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift
• Take an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company
• Maintain high level of timekeeping and prioritization skills
• Other duties as assigned
