Job summary

Gertens is hiring a Production Team Member for 2nd shift in Delano, MN. The role involves processing, mixing, and bagging bird seed on a modern automated line in a climate-controlled facility.

You will handle materials, assist with cleaning, lift 50‑lb bags, and support inventory and safety practices while contributing to overall production efficiency and quality. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Commitment to plant operations and company goals.
• Forklift experience preferred or willingness to be trained.
• Class A license preferred, not required.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and full panel drug test before starting.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow production plans.
• Set scale weights accurately.
• Feed bags through sewing machines or heat sealers.
• Stack completed bags onto pallets or into boxes.
• Move completed pallets using an electric pallet jack.
• Shrink-wrap pallets using automated and manual methods.
• Assist in mixing and blending feed.
• Load and unload trailers as needed.
• Operate a forklift (experience preferred; training provided if needed).
• Operate a yard dog to safely move semi-trailers in place for production and shipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the feed mill.
• Help customers in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned.
