Job summary

Merchants Metals in Houston, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift to lead front-line manufacturing operations, plan and organize daily activities, and collaborate with department leads on people, safety, quality and timeliness.

You will coach and develop staff, enforce policies, manage schedules and payroll, support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, and ensure safe, efficient production in a non-air-conditioned plant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a manufacturing or production role.
• 3+ years of direct supervision or lead responsibilities.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Lean/Kai zen.
• Bilingual English & Spanish desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and guidance to front-line production leaders and associates; plans, organizes, directs, and actively participates in daily operations.
• Lead, coach, and develop production personnel as SME.
• Drive safety, quality, and productivity; enforce policies and conduct evaluations.
• Coordinate production schedule to meet customer orders; manage overtime and timekeeping.
• Support continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen, lean manufacturing).
