Job summary

Chatsworth Products is seeking an entry-level Production Associate for the Georgetown, TX plant. The role supports production operators, loads/unloads materials, and assists with line painting processes on the second shift.

Responsibilities include hanging parts to specifications, maintaining cleanliness, and helping train others on the paint line. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours when needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related production experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering specifications to select parts.
• Capable of using measuring devices for inspection.
• Strong mechanical skills including hand tools.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read equipment operating/maintenance manuals.
• Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demands.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Hang fabricates parts on conveyor paint line per engineering specs and prepare for painting.
• Remove debris from parts before hanging.
• Determine best hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
• Inspect hooks for burn off lifecycles and ensure safety compliance.
• Inspect coated items for paint coverage and coating thickness.
• Perform some washer preventive maintenance tasks.
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
• Train others to hang parts on the paint line.
• Assist and support production operators as needed.

As a CPI Production Associate, you will work on tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort. Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means. Assists the production operators. Moves and transports raw materials and finished product. May assist the operators with loading machines and positioning the work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Under minimal supervision, hangs fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications, and prepares parts for painting. Removes parts from the line once painted.
• Removes any debris from parts prior to hanging.
• Determines best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
• Inspects hooks for burn off lifecycles.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
• Inspects coated items for paint coverage and tests for coating thickness.
• Performs some washer preventive maintenance tasks.
• Cleans and maintains work area and equipment.
• Assists and trains others to hang parts on the paint line.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash and production scrap. Assists in cleaning common areas.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies:

• A minimum of one (1) year of related experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
• Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
• Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
• Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
• Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
• Work with fabricated metal parts, powder coated materials and cleaning chemicals.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
