Job summary

Nutrition 101 LLC is seeking a Processing Shift Supervisor in Wayland, MI to oversee production operations on the 2nd shift and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant workflows. You will lead staff, manage workloads, and resolve issues in real time across the processing line.

The role requires a lead/operator background, forklift and yard dog certifications, and strong knowledge of processing equipment. Training shifts and after-hours coverage may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months leading or advanced operator experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain forklift, yard dog certifications and operate equipment safely.
• Strong knowledge of extruders, balers, conveyors, pumps, pressure washers, and refrigeration.
• Read production schedules, prioritize tasks, and adjust workflow to meet shifting demands.
• Understand food/feed safety, sanitation, and quality control expectations.
• Experience in completing production records, shift reports, and compliance documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, accountability, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to work with little supervision and make quick decisions.
• Strong communication to lead shift meetings and collaborate across shifts.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to participate in leadership training.
• Must comply with cGMPs and facility hygiene standards.
• No jewelry or visible piercings in production areas per regulations.
• Employees must remove jewelry and piercings before reporting to work.

Responsibilities

• Understand, uphold, and communicate the company's vision, mission and core values.
• Maintain adherence to all policies, processes and procedures in the Employee and Safety Manuals.
• Lead the shift and supervise staff; step in for any role as needed.
• Review load scheduling and understand scheduling priorities.
• Process loads completely and efficiently.
• Know how to operate all equipment and identify maintenance needs.
• Confirm documentation and math totals for every load and paperwork accuracy.
• Train crew and ensure understanding of the latest procedures.
• Complete daily supervisor and cleaning checklists.
• Communicate with team, on-coming/off-going shifts, and leadership.
• Attend company meetings and trainings as directed.
• Pursue and recommend leadership training programs.
