Job summary

Interstate Packaging Company in White Bluff, TN is seeking a Printing Press Operator Trainee to support the wide web department and ensure our products meet customer requirements. You will develop the mechanical aptitude to set up and operate the assigned press and to assist in transitioning between jobs.

You will follow safety procedures, read job jackets, check quality, and communicate with supervisors and management.

Qualifications

• Quality conscious and detail-oriented.
• Must be able to see true color (not colorblind).
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Basic math and reading a tape measure.
• Must read and understand production orders.
• Shift work capability.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures including PPE, ergonomics, chemical hazards, etc.
• Read and understand job jackets/orders.
• Establish and follow quality checking procedures in the pressroom.
• Communicate with supervisor, oncoming shift, and management.
• Assist in setup of the next job: pull ink and clean press.
• Keep press area clean and report issues.
• Enter data into computer systems accurately.
• Move and maneuver heavy press components as needed.
