Job summary

Alleguard is hiring a Pre-Expander Operator at our manufacturing site. You will operate the pre-expander equipment to produce expanded resins in designated densities to meet production needs.

The role includes handling raw materials, loading and unloading, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to visually inspect parts and determine if they meet quality standards.
• Understand and follow written instructions in work-related documents.
• Pay attention to details and actively listen to instructions.
• Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure machines operate correctly.
• Select appropriate training methods for learning new tasks.
• Ability to move finished goods using pallet jack or other equipment.
• Communicate information clearly to teammates and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate batch pre-expander, continuous expander, and material tipper as assigned.
• Unload Expanded Polypropylene materials from bulk trailers using designated vacuum system.
• Maintain accurate inventory on material boards and logs.
• Retrieve raw materials from inventory for expansion.
• Inspect expansion equipment for safe operation before use.
• Ensure expanded bead is properly stored in designated hopper(s).
• Record expansion data and report to Inventory Control Specialist.
• Submit raw material usage data to Inventory Control or designated person.
• Conduct sampling tests on raw materials and report results to Quality team.
• Verify that expanded bead passes quality inspections for production use.
• Comply with environmental and safety regulations and procedures.
• Adhere to environmental policies and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Currently, we are hiring a Pre-Expander for our manufacturing site. As a pre expander Operator, you are responsible for operating the company’s pre expander equipment to provide for adequate expanded resins in the designated and specified densities to meet the facilities production requirements.

Pay: $17.50 USD/HR + $1.00 USD/HR Shift Premium

Responsibilities

• Operation of batch pre-expander, continuous expander, and/or raw material tipper, as assigned.
• Performs the unloading of EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) materials) received in bulk trailers using designated vacuum system designed for such purpose, ensuring that the bulk material is loaded into the correct storage silo(s).
• Ensure that the information on the material inventory board(s) are accurate and up to date.
• Retrieve raw material(s) from inventory for expansion.
• Inspect expansion equipment prior to operation to insure its safe operating condition.
• Insure the proper location and storage of expanded bead in the designated storage hopper(s).
• Records expansion data on Bead Storage Location board and reports expansion activity to Inventory Control Specialist.
• Reports raw material usage on the Raw material Daily Report and also delivers that report to the Inventory Control; Specialist or other person designated to enter resin consumption data into the company’s inventory control system(s).
• Performs sampling tests on raw materials and delivers the resulting data to the Quality team.
• Insures that expanded bead has passed the appropriate quality inspection(s) and is approved for use in production.
• Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
• Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities
• Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
• Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Observation - ability to visually inspect parts during the production operation and properly determine whether the parts meet quality standards.
• Reading Comprehension - Understanding written instructions contained in work-related documents.
• Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate,
• Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Learning Strategies - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
• Ability to use manual pallet jack or other designated material handling equipment to move finished good parts and/or components to/from the assigned workstation.
• Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Physical Demands

• Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
