Job summary

Xylem is hiring an onsite Plantwide Electrical Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic maintenance of production equipment, including installation, startup support and process upgrades.

The successful candidate will diagnose and repair production machinery, plan material use, maintain records, and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Layout, plan and perform a variety of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic maintenance repair work using test and diagnostic equipment such as calibration instruments, voltage and current meters.
• Diagnose and test solutions to correct and repair a variety of production related machinery.
• Layout, plan, select materials and perform a sequence of maintenance, repair and/or construction operations using machines such as metal or woodwork saws, planers, drills, grinders, welders, hand tools, and similar equipment.
• Plan and direct installation projects for production equipment. Assist in debug and startup of new production equipment.
• Assist with implementing solutions for upgrades and improvements of manufacturing production equipment.
• Maintain and service heating plant, air compressor, air conditioning equipment and other facilities related support equipment when necessary.
• Communicate clearly with vendors and management to resolve equipment issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain records of maintenance work orders, parts used, production requirements, times and testing data.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, safety standards and records.
• Perform any additional duties within the scope of job activities as directed.
