Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Junior Automation Specialist – 2nd Shift to support and optimize pharmacy automation systems in a long-term care setting. You will work on Omnicell, DOSIS, TSort, and packaging equipment, troubleshooting, and implementing new automation technologies.

You will train technicians, coordinate with floor leadership and vendors, and help maintain equipment while ensuring downtime is minimized. This role emphasizes hands-on operations and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

Pharmacy technician licensure as required by state.
Experience with pharmacy automation equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train technicians and explain technical processes clearly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on support for Omnicell, DOSIS, TSort, and packaging systems.
Monitor equipment, respond to errors, jams, and interruptions.
Troubleshoot issues; escalate complex problems to internal teams or vendors.
Assist with setup, testing, and implementation of new automation equipment.
Perform cassette maintenance and configuration; build and validate medication cassettes.
Train pharmacy technicians on automation equipment and procedures.
Maintain documentation, tools, spare parts, and supplies.
