Job summary

Lightera is seeking a Test Technician for the Production Test department on the 2nd shift in Avon, CT. You will perform test and measurement tasks for specialty fiber and cable production in accordance with procedures and prints.

Training is provided to enable growth in the role, with emphasis on lean practices, process improvement, and quality control. Join a team focused on safe, efficient manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand complex manufacturing drawings and layouts.
• Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production System knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform production testing of specialty optical fiber and cables using established methods.
• Input key test measurements into the manufacturing database for traceability.
• Monitor test process flow and equipment health; support reliability engineering.
• Lead lean events and cost-savings projects using PCDA approach.
• Ensure in-process quality meets workmanship standards.
• Maintain daily audits and safety practices in the production area.
