Job summary

Zygo, part of AMETEK, Inc., in Middlefield, CT, is seeking a Precision Assembly Technician (2nd shift) to assemble and align optical profiler instruments and subassemblies to exacting specifications. You will follow detailed procedures, maintain cleanroom protocols, and collaborate with engineering on process development, while documenting work with meticulous detail.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
3–5 years of hands-on production/manufacturing experience.
Ability to read BOMs, schematics and optical layouts.
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Collaborative team player with problem-solving focus.
Ability to work independently with shifting priorities.
Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods.
Safe and quality-conscious with training certifications.

Responsibilities

Assemble, align, and test Profiler Instruments and subassemblies to exact specs.
Follow manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
Maintain cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
Collaborate with engineering for process development and improvements.
Document work meticulously and ensure component traceability.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain required training certifications and safety.
Operate within safety and quality guidelines.
