Job summary

Zygo, a unit within AMETEK, Inc., is seeking an Optics Machinist - Polishing for the 3rd shift in Middlefield, CT. You will program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC and polishing equipment to craft ultra-precision optical components for metrology systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of hands-on production/manufacturing experience or working knowledge of mechanics, operations processes, computers or applications.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, specifications and verbal instructions.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail for handling delicate optical components.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC and polishing machines per lens specifications.
• Select and calibrate fixtures, tooling, and components.
• Polish optics to required specifications and test accuracy using precision measuring tools.
• Communicate and maintain records to improve best practices and cycle times.
• Maintain safety rules and perform autonomous maintenance.
