Job summary

Unarco Material Handling Inc. is seeking dependable MIG welders for second shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Mon–Thu; overtime and weekends as required) in Springfield, TN.

The role tests welding ability, blueprint reading, and tape measure skills while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Ideal candidates have MIG welding experience in manufacturing, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and pass pre-employment screenings including drug tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must know how to MIG weld and pass a weld sample test.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must read blue print diagrams to ensure fabrication welds meet specs.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily work assignments and instructions from the area supervisor or lead.
• Fabricate and assemble parts using MIG welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment according to job requirements and established procedures.
• Clean and prepare surfaces and components prior to welding.
• Position, fit, assemble, and weld components according to specifications.
• Inspect completed welds and finished work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and meet production targets.
• Work the assigned 2nd shift schedule and overtime/weekends as needed.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing MIG welding on steel components while supporting production requirements, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. This position requires the ability to read and follow work instructions, properly set up and operate welding equipment, and consistently produce welds that meet established quality specifications.The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
