Job summary

Schupan & Sons is seeking a Bender Operator for our Covington facility in Kalamazoo, MI. You will set up and run bending machines to produce precision metal components, interpreting blueprints and adhering to ISO procedures.

The role requires strong measurement skills, safety compliance, and teamwork with QA and Engineering. We offer competitive pay, full-time hours, and a 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm–2am) with potential OT.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and follow specifications.
• Experience with precision measurement tools preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for unit conversions.
• Familiarity with 5S and ISO quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bending machinery according to prints.
• Interpret drawings and follow work instructions accurately.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, tapes, height gauges, and fixtures.
• Inspect equipment before use and perform minor adjustments and maintenance.
• Collaborate with quality control and engineering to resolve issues.
• Maintain 5S cleanliness and follow MIOSHA safety rules.
• OT as needed; schedule: 2nd Shift: Mon-Thu 3:30pm–2am.
