Daimler Truck North America in Detroit offers a challenging role guiding a unionized engineering laboratory team in powertrain validation for conventional and alternative propulsion. You will set up and oversee mechanical/electrical test activities, ensure quality and standards, and collaborate with product teams to meet performance specs and cost targets.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related ABET-accredited field.
• 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience required.
• Technical knowledge in diesel engine performance testing and test cell setup.
• Root-cause analysis and effective problem solving demonstrated.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate in a global environment.

Responsabilidades

• Support and oversee performance operations and testing for powertrain development.
• Develop continuous improvement initiatives, processes and tools.
• Create and manage engineering projects, timelines, and budgets.
• Evaluate investments to enhance test center performance.
• Troubleshoot test cell issues and ensure data quality.
• Ensure safety procedures and 5S principles are followed.
• Coordinate with UAW 412 technicians and test engineers for staffing.
• Maintain communication with teams to minimize downtime.
