Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. in Avon, IN is hiring a Materials Handling Associate for the 2nd shift (3PM–11:30PM EST). You will support warehouse operations including inventory control, order fulfillment, and equipment handling to ensure accurate, timely shipments.

The role requires strong teamwork, safety focus, and adaptability to cover different areas of the warehouse. A valid forklift license and comfort with RF devices are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and critical thinking skills.
• Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with warehouse policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to manage high-volume inventory and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Comfortable using technology (RF devices, handheld and flatscreen computers, etc.).
• Experience with Sit Down, Stand Up, Reach, Order Selector, and other required equipment—or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver results and provide an optimal customer experience.
• Identify non-conformities, keep the warehouse clean and organized, adhere to 5S principles, and follow all safety procedures.
• Maintain flexibility to support shifting production needs and assist in different warehouse areas as required.
• Safely operate forklifts and other machinery; maintain a valid Forklift Operator’s license; change batteries and propane tanks as needed.
• Receive incoming products, manage inventory in control systems, and store items neatly in stock and surplus locations.
• Identify, pick, verify, sort, package, label, and load outbound products; assemble kits and ensure accuracy in part numbers and quantities.
• Achieve productivity requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality by solving problems and collaborating.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
