Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Avon, IN is seeking a Light Manufacturing and Carpentry Associate for the second shift to support our warehouse operations. You will construct structures for unit shipments and assist in various warehouse tasks, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

The role requires teamwork, safety focus, reading blueprints, forklift operation, and use of RF devices. A high school diploma is preferred; forklift license and willingness to learn across woodshop areas are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in carpentry, mechanical, and packaging within manufacturing.
• Ability to manage high-volume inventory and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Comfort with technology (RF devices, handheld and flatscreen computers, etc.).
• Forklift license or ability to obtain license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver results and provide an optimal customer experience.
• Maintain Quality & Safety: identify non-conformities, keep warehouse clean, follow 5S, and safety procedures.
• Support production needs across warehouse areas to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery; maintain a valid Forklift Operator’s license; service batteries as needed.
• Build boxes and prepare materials; packaging; resolve discrepancies; operate woodshop machinery.
• Read blueprints, measure materials, and follow packaging codes for accurate construction.
• Meet productivity and quality targets through problem solving and collaboration.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
