Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas in Chicago is seeking a Warehouseman to move and manage materials on the plant floor. You will operate overhead cranes and forklifts, handle inventory, and support production line equipment to minimize downtime.

You will also use computer systems to tag, ship, and receive materials, while following safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED and basic math skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience or training preferred
• Basic arithmetic using whole numbers and US customary units for weight, volume, and distance
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Demonstrated reliable work history
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in inspection tasks

Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Operates overhead cranes and forklifts to load and unload materials
• Inventory Management: Receives incoming inventory, ensuring proper tagging and documentation
• Production Support: Maintains production line equipment with necessary raw materials to minimize downtime
• Computer Operations: Utilizes computer systems to tag, ship, and receive materials
• Additional Duties: Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
