Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Mt. Airy, NC is seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler to maintain an orderly flow of materials and finished goods. You will handle parts, communicate with supervisors, and keep a clean, well-labeled work area.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and forklift certification. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:30pm–12:00am, pay $17.05–$17.32 per hour plus a $0.25 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in shipping environment preferred.
• Must be able to operate a computer.
• Must be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts, finished goods and/or returned goods.
• Check shipments for accuracy and manifest the order.
• Ensure processing of orders meet customer requests, using a load sheet for gathering orders and/or staging.
• Communicate with supervision regarding shortages or damaged products.
• Assist with cleaning the shipping dock area and exterior shipping areas.
• Wrap material/products to Carpenter standard.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by supervision.
