Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler to receive, move and package materials for production. This role supports inventory control and counts, ensuring accurate transactions in the inventory system.

Shift is 3:30pm-1:00am Mon-Thu, with 3:30pm-12:00am every other Friday. Responsibilities include loading/unloading freight, cycle counting, and assisting team members to meet goals while pursuing continuous improvement.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role:

The 2nd Shift Material Handler is responsible for receiving incoming material from vendors, move/transact materials to production, and package finished goods for shipment in an accurate and timely manner. Assist with inventory control functions such as cycle counting and physical inventories when necessary.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Shift: 3:30pm-1:00am Monday - Thursday

3:30pm-12:00am Every other Friday

• Perform receiving and shipping functions per procedure using the inventory control system
• Load and unload freight
• Perform necessary transactional functions related to inventory receipts, issues, sub inventory movement and shipments
• Perform general area housekeeping
• Assist team members in the attainment of team goals by substituting and assisting in areas wherever needed
• Conduct continuous improvement projects as needed
