Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd Shift to load/unload material and operate a range of handling equipment. You will move material using forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, and other gear, read tape measures, and ensure quality work for internal and external customers.

Work hours are 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed. The role requires adhering to safety procedures and passing background check and drug test upon offer.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Provide high quality work to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader and yard dog.
• Use hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver and wrench.
• Accurately read a tape measure and verify dimensions.
• Provide high quality work to internal and external customers.
