Job summary

MICA Steelworks is seeking a Material Handler to store, move, and distribute materials on a busy shop floor. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely material flow, requiring forklift and overhead crane handling. Applicants should be prepared for a 2nd shift and outdoor, varied-weather work.

Experience in steel or galvanizing is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with on-the-job training provided. CDL may be an asset for some responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in steel industry or galvanizing preferred.
• Forklift and overhead crane certification required.
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• English communication is required.
• Material Handling: 1 year (Required).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations and forklift safety checks.
• Identify raw materials, in-process items, or finished products.
• Verify material IDs against production/shipping schedules.
• Move materials to correct work area safely.
• Report inconsistencies to supervisors.
• Receive, store, and issue materials to satisfy production needs.
• Assist with fabrication needs and related duties.
• Maintain inventory and report shortages/overages.
