Job summary

Snelling Staffing Greenville seeks a Material Handler I to feed lines with raw materials and move unfinished goods through the manufacturing process using a forklift. This is a 2nd shift position with training on 1st shift.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts safely, maintaining inventory, and supporting 6S/Lean standards. Strong communication, time management, and teamwork are essential.

Rate is $15/hr with a $2 shift differential after training and transition to 2nd shift.

• Know parts and home locations.
• Consolidate inventory in stockroom and other areas.
• Participate in physical inventory activities.
• Use lift assistance for items over 50 pounds.
• Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
• Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Primary Objective of Position:

The Material Handler I will supply lines with raw materials and move unfinished good through the manufacturing process utilizing a forklift.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to include proper use of required PPE.
• Operate a stand up and LP forklift safely.
• Supply raw materials where needed in the production process.
• Maintain kit carts where applicable.
• Facilitate movement of product through the production process.
• Adhere to receiving procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of parts and home locations.
• Manage and consolidate inventory in stockroom and other areas as directed.
• Participate in physical inventory activities.
• Utilize lift assistance to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
• Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
• Additional or updated duties as business demands change.

Qualifications:

• Ability to complete requirements for Forklift Certification.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Work well with a variety of people.

Experience:

Prior Forklift operation experience preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Working at a fast pace
• Sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time.
• Manually handling up to 50 pounds often by lift/push/pull.
• Working with the various distractions of a manufacturing environment.
• Bending, stooping, reaching occasionally.

Rate is $15/hr. w/$2 shift diff. This is a 2nd shift job.

1st shift training- 6A-2:30P 2nd shift: 3P-11:30P

Training is on 1st shift. Shift differential of $2/hr will be added after training and upon move to 2nd shift.
