Responsibilities

THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for keeping products neatly packaged, wrapped/palletized, and labeled correctly. This position ensures that all products are stored in the warehouse according to customer specifications. The Material Handler also maintains a clean, neat, and orderly warehouse and inspects forklifts for proper working condition.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Place product in designated rows in the warehouse neatly, evenly, and accurately.
  2. Supply the production area with needed raw materials.
  3. Assist in moving product into the print room when needed.
  4. Operate stretch wrap/shrink wrap machines.
  5. Ensure labeling and packaging are correct before moving product into the warehouse.
  6. Communicate daily with shipping and production supervisors.
  7. Assist loaders with proper loading procedures when needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  1. High school diploma or GED; vocational training; demonstrated mechanical ability.
  2. Two or more years of related experience and training, or equivalent education and experience.
  3. Ability to stand for long periods; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  4. Good hand-eye coordination.
  5. Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  6. Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift/move 100 pounds; push/pull a pallet jack with 1500-pound load.
  7. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  8. Work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions occasionally.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Previous production experience is a plus but not required.
