Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation’s Clearwater, Florida location is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the 2pm-11pm shift. The role guides production staff, plans operations, and drives safety, quality and cost goals on a fast-paced shop floor.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating with Sales and MRP, and leading continuous improvement projects. A college degree is preferred and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year or four-year college degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/operational environment.
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with improving efficiency and achieving operational objectives.
• Practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods, and practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communications, problem solving and project management skills.
• Experience directing and supervising others, evaluating performance, and training staff.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and influence others.
• Ability to manage projects and teams; analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide production employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of departmental operations.
• Promptly address performance issues.
• Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially safety plans and results.
• Plan and schedule operations within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and respond to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
• Plan and schedule operations within assigned areas of responsibility including review and approval of personnel schedules, reports, logs, purchasing and repairs. Develop production plans including load sheets, scrap, routers, Axiom, reports, dashboards and work orders. Responsible for NCR, CAR, SOP and cost/efficiency projects including capital budgets and manufacturing improvements.
• Responsible for interfacing with other functions (Sales, MRP, Manufacturing to achieve department and company goals and objectives. This position is accountable for the daily and weekly performance of Safety, Quality, Delivery, People and Cost.
• Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
• Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
