Job summary

Manner Polymers, Inc. is seeking a Shift Lead to train new operators, fill in during team member absences, and step in for the Manager when required. They collaborate closely with Shift Managers to implement best practices and drive production goals.

This position reports to the Shift Manager. The Shift Lead will develop and train staff, ensure safety standards, document production, and troubleshoot processing issues while maintaining clean, organized production areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and train new employees in plant operations.
• Promote cohesion between team members and lead by example.
• Inform the Shift Manager of any production concerns and personnel matters.
• Ensure production, health, and safety procedures are followed consistently and company policies are enforced.
• Eliminate unwarranted production downtime and minimize quarantine and scrap
• Verify and reinforce production procedures.
• Document daily production reports.
• Troubleshoot processing problems.
• Communicate maintenance needs and product quality concerns.
• Ensure production areas are kept orderly and clean.
• Take on Shift Manager responsibilities and serve as a substitute for operators and quality technicians during their absence.
• Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation, and maintenance.
• Open to working beyond regular hours for company needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
• This role operates in a facility without climate control, meaning exposure to varying temperatures based on seasonal conditions.
