Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician performs scheduled and unplanned plant process maintenance and repairs, responding to issues as they arise. Responsibilities include maintaining parts inventories, submitting purchase requisitions, and documenting work activities. Effective communication with operators, management, and maintenance personnel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, plan, modify, and repair all types of plant equipment
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Test new or repaired equipment to ensure performance standards
• Fabricate and modify equipment using welding, cutting, and other tools
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the equipment, shop, and work sites
• Follow OSHA and company safety policies
• Work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces as needed
• Document work and report outcomes
• Communicate shift handoffs and job status effectively
• Order parts and maintain inventory records in SAP
• Lift up to 50 lbs., with assistance for heavier items
• Work with industrial chemicals safely
• Supervise contractors and other personnel as required
• Research equipment needs and maintain technical knowledge
• Work flexible hours/shifts based on production needs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• 1-2 years’ experience or technical certification from college/trade school

Skills and Abilities

• Deductive reasoning and problem sensitivity
• Ability to work with diverse teams
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge, including PLCs and sensors
