• Position Title: Evening Manager
• Department: Grocery
• Reports To: Store Director
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure courteous customer service and proper handling of customer complaints and requests.
• Delegate duties efficiently to achieve maximum performance and follow-up.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
• Ensure safety standards are met for building and equipment.
• Maintain product freshness and proper merchandising to maximize sales and profits.
• Implement and maintain fire and safety programs as set by Risk Management.
• Maintain security standards inside and outside the store as set by Loss Prevention.
• Greet customers and thank them for their patronage.
• Oversee store refrigeration checks during the evening.
• Manage store operations during evening hours in the absence of the store manager.
• Adhere to all company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Supplemental Job Functions

• Assist in the cash office, including covering breaks and verifying deposits.
• Support other store departments as needed.
• Report issues to the store or department managers.
• Assist with grocery department tasks such as building displays, merchandising, signage, collecting carts, and stocking.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent; college education is a plus but not required.
• At least 1 year management experience in retail.
• Ability to make critical decisions and lead effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. approximately 30% of the time.
• Ability to retrieve and place merchandise on top racks during the shift.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack, step carts, and the “Big Joe”.
