Job summary

Mmsteam is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Lexington, KY, on a 2nd shift. You’ll maintain and repair packaging lines, motors, drives, and electrical systems, with a focus on keeping production equipment up and running.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and document repairs in CMMS, while collaborating with fellow technicians. Overtime and shift flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of maintenance experience (industrial preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical + electrical).
• Experience with motors, controls, and production equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, etc.).
• Familiarity with CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components.
• Install and repair wiring, motors, and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, inspections, filter changes).
• Inspect drives, belts, motors, and fluid levels using checklists.
• Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts.
• Test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts used, and repairs.
• Assist with inventory tracking for parts and supplies.
• Support equipment installs and system upgrades.
• Follow all safety standards (LOTO, OSHA, etc.)

Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift)

Location: Lexington, KY
Pay: $23–$27/hr + Shift Differential (DOE) + OT (1.5x after 40 hrs.)
Schedule: 8-Hour Shifts- 3p-1130 pm | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

This is a hands‑on role working on both mechanical and electrical systems, keeping production equipment running and jumping in when things go down.

What Your Day May Look Like

• Start your shift with a safety meeting
• Review work orders and prioritize repairs
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot issues on the floor
• Repair motors, wiring, or mechanical components to get machines back up
• Perform preventive maintenance before breakdowns happen
• Test systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools
• Work with other techs on larger or recurring issues
• Log repairs and updates in CMMS before shift end

What You’ll Be Working On

• Packaging lines, conveyors, and processing equipment
• Motors, pumps, compressors, and drive systems
• Electrical systems: wiring, panels, switchgear, transformers
• HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and air handlers
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Facility systems (lighting, plumbing, walls, floors, etc.)

Tools & Equipment

• Multimeters and electrical testing tools
• Hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Precision measuring tools
• CMMS systems for tracking work orders
• Blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals

What You’ll Be Doing

Requirements

What You Bring

• 3–5+ years of maintenance experience (industrial preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical + electrical)
• Experience working with motors, controls, and production equipment
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, etc.)
• Familiarity with CMMS systems

Bonus If You Have

• PLC or controls experience
• Welding or machining experience
• Maintenance certifications or an apprenticeship background
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Experience calibrating electronic, mechanical, or pressure measurement tools (gauges, oscilloscopes, etc.) in accordance with ISO/IEC-17025 or ISO 9001 standards
• Electrical Worker Certification issued through the State of Kentucky

Work Environment

• Active industrial setting (lifting, climbing, working on your feet)
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights or on ladders/scaffolding
• Flexibility for overtime, weekends, or shift changes
