Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyors and production machinery, diagnose mechanical issues, replace worn parts and ensure safety compliance on the shop floor.

The role requires hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail. Training and overtime may be required on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1+ years maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in a metals service center or related industry.
• Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting with a strong aptitude for mechanical systems.
• High School diploma or equivalent, with 4-6 years of job-related experience; vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.
• Industrial maintenance experience including pneumatics, conveyor systems, and general mechanical engineering.
• Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude, strong coordination and organizational skills.
• Understanding of ISO standards, quality management, material processing and warehousing.
• Strong math, organizational and communication skills, able to meet workflow requirements and shipping schedules.
• Reliable work history and ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing and mobility.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks.

Responsabilités

• Preventative maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors and production machinery, following diagrams and safety protocols.
• Identify causes of mechanical problems by observing devices in operation and using precision measuring tools.
• Dismantle devices to replace defective parts using hoists, cranes and hand tools.
• Inspect used parts to confirm dimensional changes using calipers, micrometers and other tools.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments with hand tools and levels.
• Minimize downtime by informing production workers and scheduling maintenance during non-production periods.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories using Kanban and verify receipts.
• Use maintenance resources efficiently to achieve job results.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information by responding to questions and requests.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information trends.
• Stay updated with technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities and ongoing needs to ensure continuity.
• Contribute to team efforts by cooperating with members and accepting reassignment.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
