Job summary

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is recruiting for a Second Shift Electromechanical Maintenance Technician in Sparta, Michigan, onsite. The role combines electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment repair to maximize uptime.

Preferred candidates have at least three years in mechanical maintenance, strong electrical skills with 480V motors and PLCs, and the ability to read schematics. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and English communication are required.

Qualifications

• At least three years of mechanical maintenance, repair and installation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical maintenance skills, including troubleshooting 480V three‑phase motors, VFDs and controls.
• Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor drives, controls and PLC I/O troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and diagnose equipment failures with attention to production impact.
• Certification in industrial maintenance or electromechanics, welding and fabrication experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; three-year manufacturing maintenance requirement applies.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and repair production systems, including motors, PLCs, sensors, conveyors, pumps and control panels.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic failures; identify root causes and address recurring equipment problems.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprints to guide troubleshooting and repairs.
• Complete routine and preventive maintenance, and assist with equipment testing and calibration.
• Partner with production personnel on equipment upgrades and process improvements that support reliable operation.
• Record maintenance work, parts usage and technical findings accurately.
• Follow OSHA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety requirements and company safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors and perform other duties assigned by management.

Second Shift Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Sparta, Michigan | Onsite

Shift: Second shift; flexible start at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m.

Schedule: Approximately 8-8.5 hours per shift; overtime available.

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $26.00 – $42.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

About The Role

This hands‑on role combines electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and equipment repair to maintain reliable operations and reduce downtime.

• Certification in industrial maintenance or electromechanics, with welding and fabrication experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience; the three‑year manufacturing maintenance requirement applies.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining equipment in high-speed packaging, extrusion, printing or converting operations.
