Job summary

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 4pm-12:30am). The role covers general and preventive maintenance of equipment, structures and grounds to ensure efficient operations.

You will work under supervision on electrical, plumbing and building tasks and support safety and housekeeping across the site. The position requires ability to read MSDS, use basic hand and power tools, and follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must pass Basic Mechanical and Industrial Mechanical Skill Assessment.
• Knowledge of conveyors, security controls, fire protection, HVAC, lighting, electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret MSDS and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs on equipment.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers, wiring and components.
• Complete minor and routine maintenance like changing light bulbs and cleaning equipment.
• Paint, plaster and perform building and grounds maintenance including plumbing and carpentry.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on material handling systems and batteries.
• Assist skilled staff with piping systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Assist with gauges, valves and pressure regulators maintenance.
• Support preventive maintenance using blueprints and manuals while following safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Store hazardous materials properly and maintain safety practices.
