Job summary

Caterpillar is hiring a Machinist for the East Peoria Building KK on the 2nd shift. You will operate, set up and adjust CNC lathes and related equipment to machine parts, emphasizing safety and quality.

Starting pay is $26.66 per hour with a $1.00 night shift premium. Overtime may be required, and relocation is not offered. Join a team focused on TPM and 5S practices to ensure top product quality.

Qualifications

• Technical school or equal educational background in mechanical or similar discipline.
• Previous CNC/machine shop experience.
• Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Awareness of Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain (5S) and TPM (Top Productive Maintenance).

Responsibilities

• Execute machining operations on CNC lathes to perform complex combinations of machining operations.
• Manually operate vertical turret lathes.
• Adjust single spindle automatic cutoff machines to perform cutoff and/or chamfer operations on barstock and tubing.
• Apply safe working methods.
